Tonight on Stoneham TV at 7:00 PM: Dee Morris and the “Suffragists of Stoneham”
Tonight, Wednesday, October 21 at 7:00 PM on Stoneham TV's Public Access Channel (Comcast Channel 9, RCN Channel 3 and Verizon Channel 34 and on www.stonehamtv.org/ondemand, The Stoneham Historical Society and Museum will present the first of their programs celebrating 100 years of Women’s Right to Vote in America.
This evening, you’re in for a real treat. One of the Society's favorite local historians, Dee Morris, will present “The Suffragists of Stoneham,”—stories about the women in our town who fought for women’s suffrage. It would lead to the greatest single expansion of voting rights in our nation’s history. Her stories will include factory workers and society women—mothers, wives, daughters and the men who supported them.
After Dee’s program, Stoneham Historical Society President Steve Rotondi will tell you about their second program, coming up on November 12, when they will welcome “Susan B. Anthony” to tell her story.
